Journal Writing Directions

What am I supposed to do with these journal entries?

Three times for each tradition we're studying, I'm asking you to send me email telling me what you've read that has been of interest to you and what you've read that relates to the topic you've chosen as your theme for the course.

You just fill in the questions on the "journal entry" page, then click on "Send This Assignment" which will email your comments to the instructor.

Why three entries per tradition?

There are three entries per tradition because I've broken the reading down into three parts. Send a journal entry after each part. This will also help you work with the information a bit as we move through it. Thinking over what you've read at least three times will help you digest it a bit more slowly and - hopefully - thoroughly.

Send assignments at three points in your reading:

  1. Read Smith or the primary reading then send a journal entry
  2. Read Novak or the secondary reading then send a journal entry
  3. Look at some of the Internet resoufrces provided and send an entry. In this entry, identify what sites you've visited online.
