VISITING LECTURERS:
There is an on-going search for suitably qualified visiting lecturers to teach in the activity program. Letters of interest and accompanying resume will be kept on file for a year and candidates contacted should an opening occur. The department is especially interested in candidates able to teach aerobics, weight training, all forms of outdoor pursuits, the major team games as well as individual and aquatic activities.

TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS:

1. Pedagogy with Biomechanics
Assistant Professor (tenure track), Pedagogy/Biomechanics in Physical Education. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate should have the following required qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate preferred (ABD considered)
  • Evidence of scholarly research
  • Be able to teach Applied Biomechanics and two or more of the following areas:
    • physical education methods,
    • physical education curriculum development,
    • anatomy and physiology and
    • general physical education activity.
  • Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills
  • Uses technology in the classroom

Job Description: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas listed above. Provide leadership at the graduate level and the potential to supervise student teachers. Conduct scholarly activities in the area of expertise. Advise undergraduate and graduate physical education majors. Serve as a contributing member to the physical education teacher preparation program. Serve on department, college and university- wide committees. Seek external grants and contracts.

Job Description: Eastern Michigan University is seeking a dynamic individual to develop and implement a new graduate and undergraduate program in sports management beginning in August 2003. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Sport Management. Conduct scholarly activities in the area of expertise. Advise undergraduate and graduate majors. Serve as a contributing member to the Recreation and Parks Management program. Serve on department, college and university- wide committees. Seek external grants and contracts.
